Plus, no one really knows how effin strong these monsters are. Think about it:
The Grunt manages to Falcon Punch a whole lot of barrels in one swing. Several vids prove that.
The Brute only needs one swing to cut you in half.
There is also a report somewhere in the game where it states that someone (forgot who) took a shot at the Grunt and it didn't die. They're like zombie monsters with a very bad attitude. Would you face one of these with a rusty saw? I surely wouldn't.
I think Daniel is actually very smart in running away and hiding than facing these things. I know it's a game, but if it were real, trust me, you'd run too.
